Best of all, you can add the password you choose to a folder\u00a0<\/span>without downloading additional programs<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0Below these lines we tell you how to do it.<\/span><\/p>\n

The method that we are going to explain to you below\u00a0<\/span>works for practically all versions of Windows<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0In our case, we have tested it with Windows 10 and 11, since they are the most used Microsoft operating systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

A script that makes our folder disappear and adds a password<\/span><\/h2>\n

The idea is that you can\u00a0<\/span>copy and paste the code that we are going to leave you below<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, so that you can create a BAT file from Windows Notepad and save it on your system.\u00a0This file will be the gateway to your folder, having to enter the password to see it.\u00a0Under these lines we indicate all the steps.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Where does\u00a0<\/span>it say?ProtectedFolder?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>you can replace it with any other name you want to give the folder.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. In\u00a0<\/span>?CHOOSE-PASSWORD?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>you must enter the password with which you want to protect your folder.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Once you have the script ready,\u00a0<\/span>save it as a BAT file<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, giving the file whatever name you want and adding the .bat extension to the end.\u00a0If you’re in Notepad, don’t forget to select the ?All files? option.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      When you double click on the file, a folder will be automatically created<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0in the path where you saved it\u00a0.\u00a0If you double click on the BAT file again you will be able to hide the folder, and if you want it to be shown again, you will have to enter the password.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      The method is very useful if you want to save files in a protected folder.\u00a0However, it has a major problem.\u00a0And it is that\u00a0<\/span>anyone can edit the script of the file<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0and enter a different password, so if you want to keep your folder safe, you better hide the executable file well.<\/span><\/p>\n

      In case you want to protect your folders more securely, you can also use third-party applications like\u00a0<\/span>VeraCrypt<\/span>\u00a0, or even compress the folder with WinRAR or 7zip with a password.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
